I don't think it's all that rare. Most foreigners that live in China are honest and supportive and more and more of them are reaching out to the Youniverse all the time.

@peachychoc7905 Mercouris is very thorough, very intelligent, and very well-spoken. He's not unbiased though. He definitely should be listened too. But he's grown very frustrated with the West, with the U.S. and U.K. in particular, and it carries over in the angle of his commentary. I think he's very competent and he's a good counter to the standard pro-western/anti Russia-anti China perspective that dominates English language analysis, but he does have a bias and it does carry through.

@covertpuppytwo3857 China is caught between two demons. On the one hand, China has a serious problem with breach of sovereignty, in no small part to the continuing attempts by western interests to stoke separatism, even to the point of terrorism, within China itself. In this respect China sympathizes with Ukraine whose sovereignty is currently being ignored by Russia. On the other hand, China has issues with western encirclement, diplomatic disrespect, and the sabotaging of influence by non-American great powers in their near abroad. On these issues they are very sympathetic to the Russian position.

Very few western leaders are military. Most are career politicians or bureaucrats with the next largest group being businessmen. Career officers would be after these—there are almost no leaders with enlisted experience.

Admiral King was born in Ohio. Nimitz grew up in the middle of Texas. If you're willing to serve in another country's navy, I'm sure there is a place for you.

@covertpuppytwo3857 These points of view may seem like BS in your eyes, but the Chinese see the world in these very shapes and shades. Your self-righteous dismissal of their concerns will make you friends among China's enemies I'm sure.
