Persia, like China, is a perennial superpower. They've had a rough go in this last century, but their influence in the region and the world is steadily increasing. They'll be back to form before you know it.

@Helena_McNeal Disney has always written it's female characters according to the standards of the day. I get annoyed at people who criticize the lack of girl power displayed by Snow White. The movie's a classic and had it been written with an aggressive heroine at its core it would have failed at the box office and there wouldn't be a Disney today. I love the new movies too but you have to appreciate the old films in their terms.

@nopushbutton I love Disney in general, but that's one of the few where I read the book first, and it's painful to watch. Same for Hercules.

I'm kinda with Danté on the Greek heroes thing. Troy was awesome, especially Hector, and the things the Argives did in order to destroy it not to mention the absolutely pathetic reasoning for doing it in the first place, were just messed up.
