  1. All animals are made mostly of water which is non-compressible. I would think that the pressure would be felt in the human body only in the places that had non-aqueous structure, like the lungs and the inner ear and perhaps cartilage and maybe fat deposits. It would be interesting to see if anybody has done any deep-see testing with cadavers or other human analogs to see what parts of the body are actually affected.

  2. A more likely scenario is that we are characters in a story. Or more accurately the descendants of ancestors of characters in a story. No glitches, no high-end computer tech required. We create universes all the time in fictional literature and the characters within believe they are real as does everyone else in that universe, in its past and in its future unless we expressly write otherwise. And from their perspective they are real and their universe is whatever it has to be to have been real at the time of the story and it most likely plays out logically after the story is over. The further a character is from the plot line, the more free will he can exercise and the less "divine guidance" he receives.
