I find this quite likely. I think American intelligence, consisting largely of old Cold Warriors, is providing the narrative in the state department and they are getting quite anxious to square off with China now while they still think there is a chance of victory. I think clandestine activities in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Xinjiang and Tibet are designed to get global support against China during such a conflict along with the blame narrative around COVID.

@jackchiu7560 His attitude hasn't changed. He came into Anchorage intending to knock China down a peg or two. The fact that China stood up to him didn't create his animosity, it just reinforced it.

@123-h5i5y I don't think Biden looks across the Pacific much. His diplomatic heart is in Europe. He leaves Asia to his underlings and they are all old Cold Warriors who hate the idea that China could be successful and some are willing to sacrifice people in the hopes that it can make China fail.

@catrojana3694 Too much conspiracy theory for me here. I don't think you need to go into conspiracies to understand what's happening. Most Americans believe that the liberal democratic system is the only legitimate system and all others are doomed to failure. China's success threatens this worldview, so certain power brokers in the United States are trying to undermine China's well-being and that which is not out in the open is just barely under the surface.
