  1. There are potential models for rebuilding more quickly. In 1952 South Korea was the poorest country on the planet. By the 1970's it was completely rebuilt and moving towards a place among the world's first class economies. The same is true more-or-less in Taiwan and Singapore. It will depend upon government discipline, popular work ethic, vision, foreign and domestic investment targeting and effective resistance of international meddling. It's a tall order, but it's not impossible.
