Blame Putin for their deaths
18
I rang 999 on a normal Sunday evening (about 10pm) about my mothers coughing and wheezing and it took over 30 mins to get even a call handler on the phone. (Luckily it was not life threatening) and although she she did need admitting to hospital and has to now recovered (thanks to being in a ward where the staff did not strike) has to spend an extras day their because no passenger transport is available to bring her home on the strike day and is now taking up a bed in the acute medical unit which could be used for someone really sick So would really like to know how many people died on or in the week after this ambulance strike day due to the fact that they called for an ambulance and were told they were not serious enough to need one on the strike day, didn’t bother to ring because of the strike or died due to delays in Ambulance crews having to come off the picket line and set off from the Ambulance station rather than already being on the street. I hope the answer is of course ZERO but if 1 person dies then it’s obviously one person too many and I hope those striking and those in government can live with the knowledge of this.

And what are the French doing to stop them leaving? Absolutely bugger all. Did you know all the french authorities are doing is shadowing the boats out of french waters and once they have reach half way and are in U.K. water they are turning back to french land and apparently will only get involved if the boat in question is in distress.

@arwaindavies4882 yes they did and I am very pleased with everyone who treated her from the Ambulance team though to the AMU staff they all did a fantastic job looking after her, the trouble is it seems they now have to strike putting more lived in jeopardy when they have no need to as personally in my view strikes don’t get you anywhere. Why are they striking now in winter anyway it’s by far they worst possible time to strike when more lives are in danger what with sessional flu, and covid on the up and and more strep cases on the rise, look at the train drivers they have been striking for months and nothing has changes and noting will. The unions and the government should continue talking and trying to sort things out .

@PortlandMan obviously you have no idea do you about my mother or what she is like before making those stupid comments so I will of course have to let you off and just except what you have said. But I will tell you (not that I should need to) my mother is 88 years old and had only just returned home from hospital a few months ago after breaking her upper leg and sending time in surgery having it fixed she also needed vascular surgery as well after loosing lots of blood and has short term memory issues And yes I did call 111 on the Friday afternoon and they sent a paramedic out and gave her antibiotics but by Sunday she was much worse (sorry I never bothered to mention this but hay ho only the important things matter here, I was really pointing out more about how long it can take even to get a call handler which for 111 can take even longer)
2
@jadedwitness9840 ok you have a cough and breathing as bad as her at 88 where her blood oxygen level went from 95 to 88% at a weekend when you don’t have the ability to call you local GP and see what happens to you then.
2
@Neil.C57510 it would still prove a point stupid and would prove that they are willing to still work things out rather than storming off throwing all the toys out the pram, after all it takes two to tango….
2
@Neil.C57510 it also means less chances of anyone dying and I know for a 100% cast iron FACT that no paramedics ever want that to happen

And this is why you will NEVER EVER be prime minister of this country… and why the Labour Party lost 3 elections under the Jewish hating Jeremy Corbyn and why it will be MANY MANY YEARS before the Labour Party is back in power.
2
Putin has their deaths on his hand along with all the Ukraine civilians he has killed
2
And this is why Labour will never ever win another general Election EVER! After all if you leader has a reshuffle and then deputy leader knows noting about it, it just proves how bad the party really is
2
And you have 100% proof of that ?

All Putin fault
1
Baldwin should de in jail for what happened

@JP-zd2wl so strike in the summer or at a quieter time in the year when their is less chance of loss of lives when you can rule out ambulances being need for season flu and covid cases for the elderly and the more vulnerable or for the idiots that drink too much at Christmas. Why strike at what’s probably the busiest time for Ambulances
1
@jadedwitness9840 I’m not against the strikes it just why do it at the worst possible time when more lives are in danger with sessional flu, covid and the idiots who drink too much at Christmas Do it at a quieter/safer time in the year
1
Btw so glad your rude comments was deleted
1
@Neil.C57510 read your comment again sonny and look at what you have said You have just proven my point as to why Paramedics and NHS staff should not be striking at this time of year but at quieter times. Personally striking in my view does nothing look at the miners in the 80’s they went in strike for nearly a year and Maggie still closed the pits, train drivers have tried the same striking for six months now and it’s changed nothing do you really think Ambulance drivers and really going to be the ones to change things?
1
@Neil.C57510 I agree wages may not be what they want but striking ain’t the way to go about it. Like I said “IT TAKES TWO TO TANGO”
1
@kreb7 the French should make them seek asylum in France though and are just instead doing nothing to stop it and instead ignoring the problem Is that right?
1
So in other words become like America where you need to show you have insurance or a credit card before the Ambulance Driver will even get out of their vehicular and where these too poor to pay for it are just forgotten ?
1
Strikes don’t work… Look at the miners in the 80’s (if you old enough otherwise ask your history teacher) they went on strike for over a year and Thatcher still closed the Pits.
1
@alexsilent5603 nope Putin started this war is all his fault
