The Dunkirk Cinematic Universe is really taking off I see.
9800
@kevinconboy7387 And Iron Man 1 happened in the 2000's while Captain America 1 happened during WW2. What's your point?
12
Here because Ja wants to be Clarence so bad
7
@kennyma4904 Which is irrelevant to the joke of 17 and Dunkirk being the same cinematic universe.
7
They don't make comedies like this anymore. ...Heck, they don't seem to make comedies anymore period lol.
5
This movie being nearly a decade old makes me feel so old...
4
@kevinconboy7387 Which is completely irrelevant to the point.
3
Raidion So??? You do realize that events in a cinematic universe don't have to take place at the same time, right? You can have Captain America take place in WW2 amd have Iron Man 1 take place in the 2000's. Guys this isn't that hard to understand lol.

Dunkirk Cinematic Universe
2
A movie starring Tony Stark and Harambe? Sign me up.
2
@lilweedsea Yes, there can be. Studios can do whatever they want lol. And the Dunkirk Cinematic Universe was obviously a joke. But the point stands that realistic events can share a cinematic universe. There's no reason they can't.
2
Yes, I'm well aware that these are 2 different wars. They can still exist in the range cinematic universe regardless.

Rez090 >Implying your preferences for humor are some be-all end-all metric for identifying jokes Just because you don't laugh, doesn't mean there isn't a joke.
1
Humbert Humbert Which doesn't matter for the joke. Two different events can exist in a cinematic universe.
1
Peter Nguyen Which doesn't matter. They can both exist in a cinematic universe.
1
voiceless glottal fricative Which doesn't matter.
1
voiceless glottal fricative No, it doesnt matter because two different events can exist in the same cinematic universe. You can have Captain America 1 take place in WW2 and have Iron Man 1 take place in the 2000's and they can still exist in the same cinematic universe. Why is this so hard for people to comprehend?
1
voiceless glottal fricative Not every movie in a cinematic universe has to have a direct relation to the other movies.
1
@peternguyen1085 You do know WW1 and WW2 both happened in the same universe, right?
1
@peternguyen1085 You idiot, what makes you think that I'm saying they're occurring at the same time? Where? Show me. I explicitly gave the example of Captain America 1 and Iron Man 1 to communicate the idea of events happening at SEPARATE times while also being in the same universe. Please read carefully next time.
1
1banana2kiwis Doesn't matter, son.
1
@lilweedsea > Implying there can't be a cinematic universe based on real events
1
@lilweedsea Yes, I'm well aware lol. Nothing I've said goes against that; that's not my point. I already stated the Dunkirk thing was a joke. All I'm saying is that there's no reason real events can't be in a cinematic universe if a studio wants.
1
@switchdiagram THANK YOU.
1
@aggressionsessions7839 Iron Man 1 was in 2008, Captain America 1 was during WW2.
1
cameronsmith53 , Which doesn't matter, you dunce.
1
@Abbertown It doesn't matter that they're from different wars.
1
@Abbertown No, it doesnt matter because two different events can coexist in a cinematic universe. It doesnt matter if they happened in different points in time. You can have Captain America 1 occur in WW2, and Iron Man 1 occur in 2008. The same applies here.
1
@maxreid9186 Movies based on real events can still have their own cinematic universe.
