16:25 I've watched more nature doc's than 99% of people and I've yet to encounter one that said the wildebeest dove in to sacrifice itself. It's always been presented in the ones I've seen as the fact that their urge to keep moving and get to better grasslands etc overcome their fear and they just go for it. Perhaps I haven't seen as many from the early 90s and before as he has and maybe the narrative was strong before. I just found it interesting that I've seen SO many African docs and have never heard of that narrative.

11:00. I feel odd in that I'm 44 and passing on my genes is not something that interests me. In fact I lost out on the happy life/marriage because I would not commit to having children and I'm very lonely as a result, but I still have no desire for kids.

1:01:10 Donald Trump is the master of the "perceived madness" strategy in negotiations. As president when he would have negotiations for free trade agreements or for whatever, people are so worried that he's out of his goddamn mind that they take his initial threats quite seriously and they give concessions they normally otherwise wouldn't. He is the master of scary rhetoric in a democracy. Any rational person would understand the limits of his powers and the fact negotiation after negotiation has him ending up at a somewhat reasonable place. All that goes right out the window when he makes crazy claims at the start so he often gets his way. It's the same reason he's the best person to talk to Russians or North Koreans etc. Those guys are legit strongman so they will not have respect for, nor fear a soft leader. Send in the guy who is out of his mind who also controls the worlds largest military, and you'll see results because those foreign leaders understand what crazy is all about. If you are negotiating with savages, you want a bigger savage.
