If people ran around every single day in Pompei shouting "In two days the volcano will for sure explode" and it never does, and all the while they were making money off the hysteria and going for hikes up the side of the volcano you can understand why people stopped listening.

And if the tems were 7 degrees cooler than normal would you be worried about the next ice age? Temperature anomalies and their predictions go both ways.

Amen. The WEF is already talking about "climate lockdowns" and other moves that they themselves for sure won't follow. The world is going to get WILD in the next few decades. Grab your popcorn.

@lillybyte I agree that you can't judge peoples accommodations to tyranny until you understand their situation. For instance, I had to take the Covid jab because I needed money to pay the bills. Now I have enough of a cushion that if work tried to mandate it again I'm in a position where I can tell them to pound sand and I can just stay at home..

People "dislike anything about the topic, every time" because it's NEVER, ever, ever, ever done is a non biased way. Ever. I am cripplingly objective, and I have very little opinion on climate change because both sides make very compelling arguments. I've been looking this topic up for 15 years and I don't know if I've ever seen anything on it that doesn't come with little signs that the presenter is on a team of one sort or another.

Even if new data is 100% correct there are going to be a lot of people who very understandably reject it because I can't think of a single climate prediction of my lifetime going back more than four decades that's ever been correct. They've cried wolf so many times and now we might get eaten.

@egorsozonov7425 And global warming means MORE greening as the tree line moves north. Nobody every talks about the benefits of rising temps, only the negatives. The word for that is bias. When it comes to a scientific context, that's a giant red flag for me. Give me the whole story or don't give me any story at all.

NOBODY wants to actually look at the real data (without coloring it) and nobody wants to look at the track record. Name me one major prediction that's come through in the last 30 years with regards to climate. One. They never ever come true and then they wonder why people are skeptical. We also hear so much absolute nonsense cause people want to paint a narrative around the data. Look at the frequency and devastation of hurricanes and wildfires, and look at all of it, historically, and it doesn't paint this dystopian picture of people like to make it out to be. I don't have an opinion on climate change, either way, because both sides make very salient points, but I am always extremely suspect of anything that's not honest and open, and literally requires consent.. You absolutely will not get published in a major journal. If you have a study that goes against the climate change narrative. The people who do this for a living literally can't oppose the narrative or they lose their funding. That's a false consensus and it's dishonest and gross and because of it, I'm absolutely skeptical. And again, for decades now there have been all of these predictions about what will happen by the year 2000, 2010, 2020, and none of them ever even come close to coming true. The worst ones to me are when people talk about heat records. They'll say that it's the warmest. Or warmest temperatures in 100 years or whatever. They actually look at that as proof of climate change and I just don't understand it at all. The fact that it's the warmest it's been in 100 years means that 100 years ago it was even warmer. There are a few things in the world people want to approach with less objectivity than climate change, and it's disgusting. And anything you're not allowed to question get an automatic red flag for me, especially when people stand to make tremendous amounts of money off of it. I'm always gonna be extraordinarily sceptical of it.

High speed electrifying of the world is not sending millions into poverty. Denying people cheap and efficient and reliable energy to those in the 3rd world is the cause. Western countries gain their prominence in life styles, due to the utilization of fossil feels but they won't allow the people who need it most to do the same. It's truly evil. The ironic part is that per capita emissions actually go down when it comes to agriculture and many other aspects of life if you have cheap, reliable energy.

@ocflam Who said anyting could literally ensure there would be zero poor people on a planet with 8 billion of them? And it's not even up for debate that cheap, reliable energy is the fastest way out of poverty. That's been well studied.
