1:47 I'm gonna stop you right there. I bet you my whole paycheck you I can edit two photos taken side by side of the same thing and you won't be able to tell which was which. The only exception I'll even remotely entertain is that at very high ISO/ASA you might be able to tell. Even then I have serious doubts though. Dude, at 34:20 you use the disingenuous, apples to orange comparison. Even the framing is different. The film one has more environment. I can soften up and add tons of grain to achieve that look, and change the blues and reds. Just because you "feel" it, doesn't make it right. That's like insisting a mini van going 100 is slower than a lowrider going 100 simply because the height makes the relative road changes look different so it "feels" not as fast. Science cares about your speedometer, not your feels. Much of your "feels" comes from personal nostalgia. Someone who is 14 might look at the old timey film photos and think the look awful because they don't harken him back to his day so of youth. I was a skateboard videographer and these days the filming styles are different and I don't like them. I prefer the techniques I grew up with. They are my comfort zone. Today's kids think they look "old school". I'm attracted to them cuz that's what I was familiar with in my glory days, not because it's inherently superior, no matter how many reasons I can come up with why mine is better.
