I have heard tons and tons and tons from most of the members of the IDW except Sam. He was the one I knew the least about so I wanted to hear this interview and get a good feel for the guy but he could not have come across worse.

The craziest part by far was that Sam said he agreed with at least half of trumps policies. That’s the thing with Trump, most people that hate him have a hard time finding too many policy decisions they actually disagree with. I am claiming he has no opinion on the Hunter Biden sang with intellectually bankrupt because there’s not a chance he would say that if the literal exact same thing happened to Donald Trump Junior.

The ends justify the means is the basis for all authoritarianism, and not coincidentally the new modern left. I see it’s so clearly because I can’t stand it when the right does it either because I’m politically homeless. It’s just way worse than the left right now because they have all the power

@Arphemius I had never seen the word deontology before. I learned something today. Hooray! As far as deontology itself, it seems to be how a ridiculous percentage of the world operates and that scares the shit out of me. Reason and rationality go right out the window. I'm pondering your claim that authoritarianism can be amoral. It's at least brought in under the guise of morality every time. I'm trying to parse that one.

@ANTIStraussian if one single thing was a dealbreaker that made you turn against an individual person to that degree when that person didn't do anything different from countless people before them, means you've become ideological. Sam join the tribe right then in there. Trump did not specifically incite a riot nor violence nor any of that. He directly told them to be lawful. I don't care what his intentions were, I care what his actions were. And this came on the heels of four months of riding were a couple dozen people died and you had politicians calling for bail money for the people that were rioting. Politicians talking about how riots didn't have to be peaceful, and that you should go and harass politicians when they are out and about on their own time. The hypocrisy disgust me to my core. It's why I can't stand ideology. It shuts peoples brains off and it hurts everybody.

@darksu6947 I couldn’t agree more that hypocrisy is one of the biggest sins. I would love to sit down with him and listen to him explain to me how Trump was a literal existential threat worthy of any and all tactics and that someone who literally murdered children would be better than him, and that his preference would be that the person who took over for him be a Democrat who is probably Woke, which he also admits is terrible and has taken over our education system, the corporate world, big tech, and the media. Bad takes are one thing, but the hypocrisy comes in when he talks about the importance of objective reasoning. I would love to sit down with him and have him steelman why someone would’ve thought that Trump would’ve made a good president, beyond just using it as a protest vote to blow the whole system up. You simply can’t champion gaslighting and authoritarianism for getting him out of office, and with talk about how great calm objective reasoning is and also how only literal ballot stuffing would count as election tampering.
