Men's Health is ultra Woke. GQ is as well. WTF?! It's beyond belief. GQ did a massive hit piece on Jordan Peterson. Disagree with the guy all you want, but be honest about what JP's positions are, and no rational human could paint him as dangerous in the least. It's disgusting. To hell with GQ and Men's Health.

@greymanBB You're arguing a point nobody is making. It's disingenuous and you know it. Nobody is whitewashing anything. We all know what happened. Zero people deny it. People holding on to what happened in the past and letting it define them today are hurting themselves. If it was hurting people on the scale you guys claim it does today, then please explain all of the exceptions to the rule today. Explain how the people who take it upon themselves to get ahead, do. Blaming other people for your problems is a low state of being.

@zootsoot2006 Exactly. I get more hate from people who I generally agree with, but pose an honest question to. They see that as abhorrent and can instantly turn on a dime and attack me. I notice they very rarely attack what I've said per se, they just insult me and don't address my honest question.

Hopefully they will come around eventually. Caryl makes some sense below, but I think the best course of action is for you to remain tolerant of them and set the example. Don't fake any of your reactions though. Don't tow their line when you are with them.

Of course recognizing and learning from the past is important. That's why it's universally known that Columbus brought about some incredibly bad things. He's not the celebrated guy he was 50 years ago and that's a good thing. Telling people to "let it go" is very different from me holding onto past icons that did horrible things. I'm not sure if it's actually me you are trying to debate because it seems like your examples are in response to a lot of stuff I never said.

They hate people who are in the centre who ask poignant questions about their stances MORE than if they were hardline Trumpers. I once called both Antifa and White Nationalists and scumbags, and the only difference between them is that Antifa would throw the first punch. For that I was called a bootlicker and and violence was okay to use on me no matter how many times I reminded them I called the White Nationalists scumbags. Didn't matter, I was in bed with Nazi's and a horrible person. Then this Antifa guy sent me a link to his video when I said Antifa was violent, and in the goddamn video itself there was talk about using violence to get the point across when necessary.

@One Race Through Adam No it's not. You haven't figured out what politically homeless means. It means recognizing there's idiocy on both sides. One is worse than the other right now, but that could change in 15 years, easily. It's okay to always objectively evaluate everything you come across.

It's amazing how many people shit on the politically homeless. We get called "people with no principles" etc all the time, simply for being objective and recognizing gray areas (i.e: almost everything).

Amerikan Idiot It's not equality when you are kept down, forcibly and openly, for things your forefathers did. Are all white men kept down? Of course not, but I know several people who have been subjected to it even on a small scale, like being forced out of being a yoga teacher after several years because "We're trying to become more diverse". A person who didn't get their job because they are white gets sent packing because they are white. That's not equality. That's literal hypocritical racism.

@Nayako Sadashi Thank you! Having pride in something other people did, or something you were born with, is silly. I'm white as snow but not proud of it in the least. I'm happy I'm Canadian but to be proud? That helps nothing.

In Victoria BC there were a bunch of stores with the same poster in the front window, talking about how they don't discriminate against blah blah blah. Of course none of them was about not discriminating against opposing views, but I digress. The reason it disgusted me so much was that everything they say on the posters is enshrined in law. It is literally illegal to not conform to that sign, so what exactly are they saying? Pure nonsense, virtue signalling.

It's not that simple. They are for compelled speech, especially in a writers room. If you don't say the things they like, you're out. Look at BLM at outdoor patios demanding people raise their fists and say black lives matter. There are countless stories of people being "forced" to make public statements that are woke or they are out of a job. The problem is that the control freaks are now in the board room and other positions of power.

Because sex is your physical side and gender is how you feel. Yeah it's kinda weird but you can be a women who is called a he upon request. To a doctor Ellen is still a female, end of story. We need concrete terms for gender that are not the same as describing sex. They should not be interchangeable.
