@paulmacdonald99 A quick Google search will show you multiple scientists who are actually named in the report itself that claim they were misrepresented. That's the problem with this movement. People like me who are objective and don't give a flying fuck about anybody's ideology are the ones the environmentalist should want to reach, but they don't because we see that there is a certain amount of chicanery going on and that makes us sceptical of the whole enchilada. It's like the government's response to Covid, in America you had Dr. Fauci knowingly lying to people about masks, and then expecting people to believe everything else he says. If you want me to take you seriously, don't fucking lie to me. It's not rocket science. Don't sensationalize, don't use hyperbole, just come at me with logic and reason and I will absolutely side with you if what you're saying makes sense. Until then........

I went to an event in Victoria Canada in 2019 where they shut a bridge down in protest. They absolutely were talking about issues other than the environment which is why they can fuck off. I care deeply about the environment and it drives me nuts that it gets so wrapped up in issues that have nothing to do with the environment like "systemic racism". I'm taking an online class at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver and one of my teachers actually said that Covid was a product of climate change. I asked her to elaborate and I filmed her answer and boy was that a word salad. I'd love to find an environmental organization that didn't have a radical political bent.

Just like how he says he's going to give the numbers and data, then only talks about Greenland melting and 7m of sea rise, and the 1.5% target. That's not climate data. Explaining the volume of frozen water in Greenland, or a UN target is NOT the same as explaining to a layman like me what the numbers and data tell us about what humans are doing to the environment.

35:00. this rant is where he starts to make good points. I like that he's accounting for the fact that in the west we just sent our industrial emissions to the east so we can't exactly bitch at them for it, and that their contributions to the climate are must more recent. Good points.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on this one since he's actively trying to stop that from happening. Just saying.

That's a good thing. It's okay to just give people a platform and let the viewer judge for themselves. Helps stop situation where somebody is on the defensive the whole time and the interview just goes off the rails.

@rwatertree his claim is that there are so many lifeforms in the forest that require oxygen that it basically cancels the Amazon out. It becomes a zero sum game. It creates a ton of oxygen but that oxygen is mostly used up by the animals who expel carbon dioxide which is breathed in by the plants.

It's a delicate line when you have contradictory views on your show because you have to respect them and give them the space to speak their mind, yet also challenge them and ask them the difficult questions. I think FF and KK do a pretty good job overall.

Yup. I don't watch too many shows anymore because as much as I hate, hate, hate the woke/modern environmental movement, I don't need to hear "The leftists are discriminating again" weekly. Sometimes I want to hear other perspectives. I want to hear people closer to the middle on left, and not just about the problems with the left. That story has been well told.
