@mattstiefel4806 You are much like the typical SJW. You insult and demean instead of hitting back with powerful counter arguments. The arrogance of that is incredible. If you have something substantive besides whataboutisms I'm all ears. FYI, being anti-woke is not specifically a conservative thing by any stretch. The politically homeless, and everyone with mainstream liberal views circa 2012 also find the irony of the racism and sexism shown by the regressive left to be frustrating, hypocritical and destructive.

What's pathetic is that the song has two verses, and the second verse is a girl aggressively targeting a man. Funny how you don't hear about that though. Watch the video, the second girl is damn near unhinged in her attempts to get the man (Red Skelton, BTW). It's all in good fun.

@mattstiefel4806 Evidence of "secret police" "abuducting" protesters? It's called regular police, and they are supposed to take people off the streets who are burning things down. That's their job, silly.

Give her time. She may see the light one day.

@mattstiefel4806 I didn't read anything in peanut butter's post about racism. You brought it into this conversation. That's the type of stuff we're so sick and goddamn tired of. Nobody says racism doesn't exist. They just say the whole goddamn (white) world and everything in it isn't racist, FFS. You had people crying about racist cops in a predominantly black city with mostly black cops, a black police chief, a black mayor, up and up to a black president. It's beyond belief.

@mechanomics2649 Right wingers are far more likely to call you stupid and roll their eyes, but they'll defend to the death your right to say it and they are far less likely to ex communicate you for your views.

@anonleft Yeah she was probably paid millions to be on this show and seem all happy and free of her mental anguish. What a great con.

@mattstiefel4806 That's why people are so irritated with you guys. You NEED good vs evil. You NEED teams. "You're either with us or against us" mentality. She's not at all on the right. She's still a self proclaimed liberal, and is probably closer to political homelessness than anything. For some reason anyone who doesn't tow the party line that has popped up in the last 1/2 dozen years is now on the right. At least you didn't call her alt-right, so I'll credit you for not being that far down the rabbit hole.

My advice is to get her to logically justify her opinions, then you point out the blind spots and logical flaws in them to keep her honest. Ask her why older people, the ones with the most life experience, tend to fall a little further right on the spectrum. Is it because they are all stupid? Because they get corrupted? Ask her why so many hippies became yuppies.

@johnkosi6798 "It comes down to manipulating languages and giving words multiple contradictory meanings. It makes a transparent discussion about these ideas difficult. " No kidding. It's like how I get yelled at for saying Antifa is fascist. They yell at me "It's right in the name, stupid". Oh well then, let's call the KKK the "Kentucky Kids association for the integration of all races and creeds in joyful anti-racist harmony so we can create Krafts". Done! KKK racism solved. I mean it has to be, it's right there in the name!

It's amazing what happens when you stop having to think of the "right" things to say, and just speak honestly.

It's not playing the victim when simply showing something like this can cause you to lose your job in certain fields. Cancel culture is psychotic and malevolent. I hate the SJW mentality with a passion, but I'd never fire someone because they are one. If they show up to work and do their job, their outside-the-workplace views are none of my concern.
2
Be weary of anything you aren't allowed to question. Keep thinking for yourself and let your own conscience guide you. Do not ever tow the party line and say things you don't mean deep down.
2
Liberals are just fine. Then again, today's left would call a liberal with popular liberal views circa 2012 an alt-right nazi.
2
Does she sound like an extremist now? She does not at all come across like that to me.
2
@ObviusRetard Agreed. I think your job as a parent is to teach a child to think for itself. Always call out logical contradictions. Get them used to critical thinking. Actual critical thinking, not the type where people just parrot what their professor says. And yeah, maybe your kid will point out one of YOUR blind spots in the process, and that can only be helpful. We all need to keep each other honest.
2
And if they disagree with the person being interviewed, they will say it. They are intellectually honest.

She agreed with a couple things JP said. This upsets you? What makes you say she believes "everything" JP says?

@mattstiefel4806 You again! WTF?! And once again, not actually giving a point of view other than an insult. Good lord. And once again you brought race into it for absolutely no reason (the subject of the interview is white ffs so what does any of this have to do with racism?). You haven't said one articulate thing in any comment. You have done nothing but insult and be condescending. When did Sean mention is race, nationality, or work ethic? You have criticized 3 things he hasn't even said, which is even weirder because there's nothing wrong with being white, American, nor hard working. Weird things for you to pick on.

Some commenters accuse her of being a grifter. If she's a grifter then she's the greatest actor I've ever seen because you're bang on about that time stamp. It brought joy to my heart seeing that.

@Moveplaylift I think it's worth diving more deeply into. I'd love to hear the opinions of early childhood psychologists. They talk all the time about how subtle things during the formative years can be incredibly impactful. If you barely see a human facial expression outside your own house from 3-1/2 to 5 years old, I think that certainly has the possibility of affecting you psychologically long term. You're also being taught at such a young age to stay away from people and they everybody outside your family is dangerous.
1
@mattstiefel4806 Again, if you have something to say besides insults we'd like to hear it. Logic and reason are always welcome. I ask you this though: have you ever once in your whole life had your mind changed by being insulted? Are the hardcore anti-maskers mostly right wing? Most likely. Are most of the conspiracy theorists right wing? Most likely. And again, you're dodging the actual premise. If you have logic and reason to defeat Jame's argument, then have at it. If you have a different take on whether or not masks are going to possibly mess up little kid's brains during that stage of development, then say it. Don't just be a sarcastic fucking asshole.

@matthewrucker7111 Agreed. They don't "target" young people so much as young people are the hostage audience in universities so they have a multi year pulpit. Young people are certainly more easily swayed though so they get that as a bonus.

Oh dear lord. Not sure anybody is ready for the Final Boss fight quite yet. Hey, Joy makes millions being an SJW. I'd probably be a phoney asshole too for her paycheque. I'd just consider it like I was playing a character, haha.

Sam Weaver Definitely would taste bitter.

@MarkCisOfTheLoonieLeft "civil rights are breaking down the family?" It's about the recent trend towards this idea that one parent households are as good as two parent households even though there is a mountain of evidence to the contrary in terms of life outcomes. Google any aspect of it you can. It's overwhelming. Single parent kids are less likely to graduate, less likely to go to college, more likely to end up in jail, more likely to live below the poverty line. And it's not by a small margin.

That's because somebody killed your dog.
