Great examples. I would like to ask this guy how he feels about those books.

That's ridiculous. They definitely should not be teaching that in the classroom. On the flipside, the exact same thing needs to be said for all this gender ideology garbage. It's absolutely everywhere in schools now. Ideology should be for the home. Math, languages, science, music, athletics, these are what schools are for..

The Nazis were socialist. It's right in their name, and they had socialist ideals. What are the founding documents is called "25 points" from 1920. Here's an excerpt: 14. We demand a division of profits of all heavy industries. 15. We demand an expansion on a large scale of old age welfare. 16. We demand the creation of a healthy middle class and its conservation, immediate communalisation of the great warehouses and their being leased at low cost to small firms, the utmost consideration of all small firms in contracts with the State, county or municipality. 17. We demand a land reform suitable to our needs, provision of a law for the free expropriation of land for the purposes of public utility, the abolition of taxes on land and prevention of all speculation in land. I really wish people would stop with this nonsense that Nazis were not socialist. Tell me how these are right wing ideas. Be specific.

Education is already a wealthy privilege.
1
@paulcernava7091 the Internet will soon change that. There are a number of groups trying to create online universities that will be taken seriously. In the age of video it’s absolutely insane that you have to pay a bunch of money to be in the same room as someone year after year when they can just create a video untold numbers of people can see, and updating it is quite simple.

Fiction? The guy literally does build giant buildings. He makes massive real estate deals. They reference many specific deals that actually happened right in the book. Are you referring to the fact that he had a ghost writer? Welcome to most books.
1
Unfortunately, it's all too common. Try and find a copy of Huckleberry Finn in a school library.
1
Try putting something like a Nancy Reagan biography in classrooms in California and see what happens.
1
According to you, Obama and Hillary Clinton were literally far right when they were vying for their party nomination. They both voted to strengthen border fences, and both of them did not believe in same-sex marriage. A whole host of things they stood, for you would literally consider far right. These days the far right is anyone this side of Lenin.

Yes, because in the bill to save puppies would be a declaration that getting someone's pronouns wrong is punishable by death, and it would include taking all of your savings and giving it to illegal immigrants. It's absolutely disgusting when people put things in bills that have nothing to do with the headline of the bill. It's done intentionally to demonize the other side when they vote it down.

Are you suggesting the left doesn't ban books? Try and find a copy of Huckleberry Finn in a California school. The left bans books as well.

The Nazis were socialist. It's literally in their name and socialist tenants are in their founding documents which you can look up online. Here are a few: 14. These were taken from their "25 points" document from 1920. Tell me again how they were right wing.
1
I just googled it and you're right. Wow. That's ridiculous. I wish the right had exclusive claim to ridiculous name changes though. Illegal immigrants aren't migrants. A biological man is not a female. Both sides always have, and always will do it

@Jess-kz2wn gas stoves?! One, the left right now in America is literally waging a war against gas stoves. They are getting natural gas stoves band, or or at least trying to in many areas. If you are referring to Nazis, they were literally socialist. It's actrightually in their name, and their founding documents are full of socialist ideas. Their "25 points" proclamation from 1920 states includes: 14. Tell me again how gas stoves are right wing. Be specific.

I'm willing to bet that is only partially true. I bet if there were right wing books that were banned in your California hard-core blue area that you would not buy them to have your children read them.

This year he is literally paying the highest tax bill any human being has ever paid in the history of America. $11 billion. He is paying $11 billion in taxes this year. Tell me again how $11 billion is $0.
1
@bulkvanderhuge9006 I guess we will have to wait until after tax time. If he files his taxes and it becomes a matter of public record that he paid billions, will I get an apology?

I knew somebody would bring race into this. Anne Frank was white, so what exactly does the race of your district have anything to do with this? Be specific.
1
What's completely insane to me is that the left and right have largely flipped on many things. Yes banning the Anne Frank diary is ridiculous, but overall is overwhelmingly the left that is the new "moral majority". People self censor and it's because they don't want to run afoul of the left. At any major corporation you can get in massive trouble for saying anything that goes against the woke ideology. anything that goes against the woke ideology. Hell where I live in Canada, there's a new government proposal to make it literally illegal to state that one fossil fuel is more environmentally friendly than another. It would actually be illegal to say that natural gas burns cleaner than coal. Cancel culture is almost exclusively left wing thing. It's so weird. I'm sure the pendulum will swing back the other way in a few decades. I'm politically homeless so I think both sides are ridiculous, but right now the left is way more extreme than the right. Way more. The average conservative in 2024 pretty much has 2001 liberal ideas, outside of religion (which of course includes abortion).
1
That's a rather elitist statement. And Canada is absolutely full of lemmings. Our governments and industry have been captured by racist and hateful DEI woke policies, and nowhere worse than the education system.
1
Begins? Books getting taken out of schools has been happening for ages. Try finding Huckleberry Finn in a California school.
1
@Anna-vl8qc literally incorrect. I don't want to lead you to any particular biased website, so Google it yourself. Republicans actually give more to charity than Democrats.
1
Absolutely. Couldn't agree more. We need to get Biden out of there. I wish it wasn't Trump, I wish it was Vivek or RFK that would be the new leader, but Trump will have to do. (and he will).
1
@michelledavis4341 call so you're gonna open up your home to the illegal immigrants then? Didn't think so. Also, I highly doubt he had anything to do with the banning of the Anne Frank book.
1
What is the correct figure? What percentage were brought to North America and what percentage were brought to South America? Also, why does it matter? We all know slavery happened. Literally nobody denies it, and literally nobody says that they think the whole ordeal was a good idea so I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. I'm willing to bet you would get very irritated if I reminded you that all of the African slaves were rounded up by Africans and sold by Africans yet I don't hear you condemning them for that.
1
I scrolled and scrolled and scrolled, and couldn't find one single commentor mention that right now the left is doing much more banning than the right. You are all acting like books like Huckleberry Finn weren't banned as well. Do you think this is a Republican exclusive thing I've got a bridge to sell you.
1
I get what you're saying and you're not wrong, but it's definitely a nuanced topic. Absolutely nobody wants a literally unfettered library. I'm quite sure there are published materials that you don't want in a classroom full of children, especially little kids. It's basically just a line in the sand, and different people have different ideas on where that line should be.
1
@damrielkaari3718 I really like the notion that it’s an invasion of her privacy. That’s a really interesting way to look at it.
1
The vast majority of people now get their information from independent sources. Joe Rogan reaches so many more people than outlets like CNN. It's not even close. Rupert Murdoch fired their number one guy. They jettisoned the person who gave them the most reach. It's beyond belief. Mainstream media is dying.
1
So you believe that literally any book whatsoever should be allowed in the library then? That's your argument as you worded it. I very much doubt that is the case. Nobody wants literally 100% completely open libraries to children of all ages. Also, I'm not saying you personally are, but the leftists are really big on policing speech. They want massive punishment for "missgendering" somebody. In some colleges you can get in trouble for asking where somebody is from. The right may get a little silly and dip their toe over the line when it comes to censorship now and then, but it's not even within a country mile of what the left is doing right now.
