3:50 where can you buy a home for $530,000? I live in Vancouver Canada and the average home is $2,000,000. I think you're downplaying how much the income disparity matters these days. Having one regular job income that can provide a house and car and stay at home wife to raise the kids is a pipe dream for almost everybody now. The vast majority of people I know will never be able to afford a home. The amount of money I make right now would've blown my mind 20 years ago, but it's not enough for me to get ahead at all. I think the cost of living crisis in many big cities in and of itself is enough to tear away at your lifestyle to such an extent that the "good old days" were objectively better. Wages are absolutely not keeping up with inflation so these days it takes two people's income to pay what used to be had with one persons income, and that's if you don't live in Vancouver or New York or San Francisco, etc.

@ImRezaF Tokyo is relatively cheap?! my whole life I’ve heard it was an incredibly expensive city, which is why people live in those tiny little apartments and such. That’s not the case anymore?
