  1. What do you mean they were too old to be riding around on a skateboard? There are tons of professionals in their 40s. It’s the same as any other sport. It sounds hilarious that you’re talking about having a kid by 30. You’re assuming that those guys didn’t. If you hit a ball back-and-forth against the wall in an enclosed room that’s perfectly fine, but other sports aren’t? Makes zero sense. And if those guys were child free and enjoying your freedom, doesn’t mean you have to get cranky at them because you were saddled down strangest reason to hate on anyone I’ve ever seen. Just because you grew up and forgot to have fun doesn’t mean they should be cranking with life as well. This whole rant is so absurd. Skateboarders don’t want anybody in their physical way. If there’s a plaza for skating, the drug dealers will not be on it, end of story. They may go to the outskirts of it but that will happen no matter what was there. And your complaint is that the market is going one block away? What difference does that make? Also, the fact that you said quarter pipe and half pipe shows me you haven’t been on a skateboard since the early 89’s at best. And also shows that you have been out of touch with the cultures since then so I’m not sure what you’re basing your arguments on. Justin Herman Plaza in the middle of the Embarcadero used to be the most famous skateboard spot in the world. Yes it was rowdy teenagers and all of that but if you came to do something drastic, you were in big trouble. If you think they don’t act like a de facto police force then you need to do a little more digging. I’m a middle-age man myself is the first time I’ve heard anyone and wanted to say “okay boomer” and I’m only 5 1/2 minutes in. Yes you will find drugs on a skateboard park but almost exclusively weed. It is legal in most places anyways. You won’t find it much there that is inorganic. You seem to have this pearl clutching vision of what goes on at a skate park and it’s very clear you don’t frequent them. Your children definitely don’t as well.
