  2. It’s actually worse than you argue. Inflation is the measure of the increase. That means all the old increases are still baked in to the prices. Getting it down to 3% means 3% on top of 9% on top of…. I think this is the reason people don’t get as angry as they should about inflation. They think that if inflation goes up and then comes back down that you are back where you started.
