  1. It's both. Money doesn't motivate billionaires. It's the prestige and winning that they are addicted to. Being president is something you can't buy with money so it can have more allure. By no stretch of the imagination is Donald Trump running for president again out of a humble sense of duty. And so what? It's the same reason as how people do charity for selfish reasons. It makes you feel good.
