  1. I'm a safety officer in the construction industry. I 100% with Mike here that the more safety protocols get put in place, the less people are careful. That's why I get so mad when people built ghetto wooden railings in construction. If you have a railing that might not be strong enough to hold you if you fall against it, I'd rather there be no railing at all because then you're more likely to be careful. The more you take responsibility away from the individual, the less likely they are to care in the least about their surroundings.
