Interesting question. That guy Harari from the WEF explicitly stated in an interview that he was culturally raised to believe the Jews were superior. The sad part is that these days you can’t even ask questions that are rational and reasonable without people attacking you. Now couple a feeling of superiority with the solidarity and cachet of victimhood mentality, and you have a powerful combination. I’m not at all saying that’s what’s going on here because I know next to nothing about Israel or Jews, but it’s a question that jumps out at me that’s for sure.

Jordan didn’t seem like he was taking sides at all. He was looking at it very objectively and I think that’s fantastic. That’s what an interviewer should do. He should let the interviewee speak on their own terms without interruption. It should be up to the listener to decide if they liked it or not.

I’ve never really formed clear thoughts on what I think about inheritance in general. About birth rights. I’ve always found them quite bizarre. I find it interesting that Benjamin thinks that it is a matter of course that the Jews should have a homeland. I find it interesting that he thinks that they should have it simply because they were there a long time ago. That sounds like an emotional argument masked as a rational one.

History is always written by the winners. If you think his version of history is absolutely perfectly dead on accurate than you believe he is singularly different than every other person whoever wrote history.

@boazmunro478 interesting arguments. Those all seem quite reasonable.

@boazmunro478 Thanks for giving me insight into your upbringing. Were you in Israel? I lived in Toronto as a youth and went to school with many Jews. They were all the most wealthy kids in class. The stereotype wasn't for no reason, haha. Everyone at my school got a long though.

@boazmunro478 Another question: were you "encouraged" by your parents to get a Jewish partner?

“ The absolute, nonnegotiable truth about Palestine”. So your grandparents knew what was up and your side of the story is absolutely perfectly true in every way? You sound different from Benjamin how? Everyone thinks their version of history is the non negotiable correct one

This interview didn’t backfire at all. He allowed Benjamin to state his case and Jordan didn’t offer up his opinion one way or the other as far as I can tell. I don’t think it is incumbent upon the interviewer to make sure they go through every tough question and all of that. They’re certainly welcome to but I don’t think it’s an obligation at all. A man came on the podcast who wanted to state his case and that’s what happened. People only seem to complain about the hands off approach of an interviewer if they disagree with who’s being interviewed.

@everyonehasincommon1216 I don't give a rats ass if Israel exists or not. I have no dog in the fight. I think the entire concept of entitlement is silly, petulant and childish. I think I have no "right" to anything I didn't personally achieve, but that's just my opinion. You feel differently. You feel like things that your ancestors did entitle you to something today. That's fine. Again, these are just opinions.

You’re out of your mind if you think conservatives are more likely to play the insult game then progressives. Of course some people do go look at the comments sections in any YouTube video and you will see that conservatives are far more willing to make actual points and are less prone to ad hominem attacks
