I haven't heard a single one of these senators ask the people who think these books are OK, what pornography is. To define it. They also never ask them if it's appropriate for minors to have access to pornography. If somebody thinks that's acceptable, then that's fine. I disagree, but these are just opinions. But to claim these books aren't pornography is factually incorrect and that's where the argument should start.
1
@RiSkyNick That does not negate my point. Also he was not brought on as an expert. He was brought on as a "witness" of sorts.
1
I normally really like Kennedy, but I think he's the embarrassment here. He's grilling the kid about unrelated woke tweets? C'mon. Grill the kid about climate stuff. That's why he's there. Stick to the damn topic. If you're there to debate the science then debate the damn science. Scumbag move by Kennedy.

Tulsi Gabbard

@carlitor4173 It won't happen, but best case scenario would be Vivek vs RFK. I wouldn't care who won.
1
@jess3591 The Republicans were in office for the previous 4 years. It's not like this bloated bureaucracy is a new thing.
1
@senseofthecommonman obvious? There are a lot of things in this world that are extraordinarily toxic, things where that much of a dose could kill a tremendous amount of adults. The overall concentration of something only matters in direct relation to how potent it is.
1
It's amazing how often "experts" end up i-don't-know-ing through these things.
1
Martha Stewart went to jail, but Anthony Fauci is still a freeman. Who caused more harm? Both lied under oath.
1
There is a "protest". Every four years, and every adult can participate.
1
Show me the last Republican administration with a balanced budget. @DimitriosChannel
1
I'm down for some civil action because he made their already rough times even worse. He definitely owes something, but $1.4 billion? Evern $55m is a joke. It should be 6 figures, not 8. It shouldn't be a lottery win ffs.
1
The school bully didn't steal your lunch money, he advised you to give it to him.
1
He's not though. Tik Tokers are allowed to express the exact same things on Insta, YouTube, Facebook etc. Rand is arguing a point nobody is making. Nobody is saying that the things Americans are saying on Tik Tok shouldn't be said. Nobody at all, and there are plenty of other outlets so no it's not infringing on a damn thing
1
I had to google matthew miller. Seems he's a state department spokesperson. That would make him the literal opposite of me. He'd be a narrative driven person by the very nature of his job. I crave the exact antithesis of that. @Mhdrhsn
1
What is my ideology? Please be specific. @Mhdrhsn
1
I prefer logic and reason to being a petulant child. You won't help your child by ranting and raving. @nasersiddiquee7253
1
@paulstrife I love how I'm the only objective one here because I'm seeing both sides, have a narrative or an agenda and everyone's attacking me for being the ideologue. I'm the only one here who isn't. Petulant behaviors, petulant behavior. I don't care if I agree or disagree with the person. I'm not a hypocrite.
1
@lilaoliva793 What's interesting to me is I've never given any hint whatsoever as to my position. I have literally said nothing about my opinion on anything other than always wanting to learn as much as I can about a situation before coming to a conclusion (which you actually chastised me for, which I find exceedingly bizarre and frightening. You're literally insulting me for wanting to educate myself). My only other opinion was that petulant behaviours petulant behavior. I said right at the top I don't give a damn what the subject is or whether I agree or disagree. I don't like petulant behaviour out of someone who's purporting to be a journalist. Everybody responding to me are definitely ideologues because you guys are attacking me without knowing what my position is either way.
1
@lilaoliva793 The ends don't justify the means. That's the basis for all extreme ideologies. The further we stray from objectivity the more dire the potential consequences, and it almost always leads to hypocrisy.
1
@lilaoliva793 So you're still criticizing the very act of trying to learn as much as you can about a subject before making a definitive proclamation?
1
@lilaoliva793 "Who strayed from objectivity?" Are you very aware of the position of the person asking the questions? Would you bet your life savings you know exactly where he stands? Then that's not objectivity by definition. Back in the day it was considered abhorent for a media personality to reveal their own thoughts about news. They believed their job was to ascertain as much information as they could so the viewer could decide for themselves the truth. Anyone not doing an identified opinion piece tried to hide their personal bias in the name of good journalism. What I'm saying is both sides loooove when their side gets belligerent, but loses their minds when the other side does it. I think it's hypocritical and gross and I really hope we go back to the media just conveying information instead of trying to lead us in what to think.
1
@thebard6961 being petulant has nothing to do with whether or not your point is correct. Petulant is a type of behaviour. Also, that literally couldn't have less to do with the meaning of "Kafkaesque". I think you need to study up the definitions of things before commenting on them.
1
I don't see this guy that way. It's not evil, if he literally isn't allowed to answer that question legally. What would you have him do? Go to jail for it? He very clearly states that it's the inspector general who calls the shots in the situation's. He does answer the questions. I'm not sure why everyone's so angry in the comment section. He also says he wants to take the conversation private, which means he's willing to talk. I think he's sympathetic to this case, it's just that he has to answer questions in this manner to make sure he doesn't hang himself. Understandable.
1
That's why I don't understand the cult of Trump. He talked a big game about draining the swamp, but nothing happened. If the Republicans win the next election and don't start hammering down, then they are just as pathetic as the Democrats right now. I have no faith that anything will actually happen.
1
Tucker used to work for CNN. Crossfire.
1
Your argument goes both ways.
1
These are the same people that called for people to lose their livelihoods if they said, "learn to code" because that was such a dangerous dog whistle.
1
@senseofthecommonman LMAO. Great point. Nothing makes me chuckle quite like somebody getting indignant and calling other people stupid when they themselves are dead wrong.
1
What a wonderful get out of jail free card. "My bad" shouldn't be an excuse.
1
I get what you're saying, but you can also check your bank balance. I don't trust my own mother so I verify everything before I go spouting my mouth off about it. That said, I don't believe this woman was genuinely shocked that she said and incorrect thing. @ChurchOfTheHolyMho
1
The private corporations didn't do anything wrong, legally, speaking. The government did. Social media platform can ban any speech they bloody well feel like. The problem is that the directive came from the government.

It's unfortunate that they went "Yeah, let's just move on". No, figure it out. Either Cruz is distorting or he's not, and if you say he is, then offer up the proof or be held to account yourself. You know the world is going nuts when more and more I hear things coming out of Ted Cruz's mouth that are rational and reasonable and intelligent. (update: I found the actual article and as usual, they ALL are sumbags. All 3 are telling half truths. The article does not say "abolish", nor even hints at it, yet it clearly does talk about reducing funding over and over. She can't say that's not what she meant because her language was not vague, and Blumenthal doesn't back up what he says either. All 3 are......politicians.
1
3:41 AOC sure did. Worst take I've ever heard. I don't care how much you don't like someone, you can't call a literal world-class, all-time genius "unintelligent"
1
You know damn well they do it on both sides so they'll stamp their feet and make a show but in the end won't do a thing. The Republicans love to have people dead to rights but then walk away. Both sides are truly awful.
1
@carljcreighton I wish I could find specifically what he said, but he had things to say about his Transportation portfolio that were mindbogglingly stupid. I've seen him say some spectacularly gaslighty things about the infrastructure that drove me nuts. You know that feeling when a politician says something so stupid you take it personally? You're shocked they would think you are dumb enough to buy what they're selling. We all know that feeling. His resume was absolutely not up to the task. Anyway, sorry, I don't have anything concrete to point to. A quick google search pulled up nothing but left wing platforms that blew him so I couldn't find it, and YouTube doesn't let you search by date and most Pete stuff comes up with him going after JD Vance recently. I guess all I have is "Trust me bro!" haha. Cheers.
1
"They aren't looking to get rich here," if that was true they'd donate the money. I'm not holding my breath. @timogul
1
@timogul "The point is that they are more interested in punishing Jones for his actions than they are in personal gain." We will agree to disagree. The original suit was to punish Jones, but asking for the moon is pure greed, plain and simple.
1
"Vote your conscience". So you agree with the judge then. The judge is an activist, which means she judges based on her own conscience as opposed to the law.
1
@sheenarayson2179 anybody dealing with anybody else’s money should be audited. Anyone who receives taxpayer money should be audited.
1
I’m usually with Kennedy, but I think he might be going too far with this one. I didn’t see anything in there that constituted proof that she wrote her own opinions. If she was just an editor like she says, then I think she gets by on a technicality here.
1
Good Lord. Both of them are acting like petulant children. The truth is somewhere in the middle and they don't need passive aggressive shots at each other. I hate politicians so much. Both of them put on more of a performance than a fact based information session.
1
I actually feel bad for Don lemon. Maye he was just towing the party line. He used to say intelligent things. Then the network made him go far left and then dropped him because of it so at least could've told him do his face. Don't get me wrong, I think he sold his soul to the devil, but firing someone remotely is cowardly.
1
@An American You got me. I'm enabling a billion dollar company. Without me they'd be doomed. I'm enabling them because I don't think they are literally treasonous. I'm super powerful.
1
It's like how anyone who went against the Covid machine was a fringe weirdo despite coming from high up positions in Harvard, Oxford, Stanford (The Great Barrington Declaration) as well as friggen Robert Malone of all people. He's as expert as anyone alive abou this stuff but the NYT etc act as though these are random basement dwellers with fringe views.
1
The vast majority of the time you can tell who's right and wrong with the audio off. 20 years ago it was visually clear that the liberals were the side of logic and reason, and the conservatives were not. Nowadays is the exact opposite. But it's even weirder now because there's this gray area of "the machine" that is not really liberal nor conservative, but it sure is smug and has poor body language.
1
I wish I was American so I could vote for him. I don't have to agree with you on everything, I just have to respect you as a person and that's almost unheard of for me and politicians.
1
This dad is AWESOME!
1
You sound different from the Democrats for the last 4 years how?
1
This was a good back and forth. Both of them are making good points. "What if we don't do anything?" is just as valid a question as "What if China and India back out?"
