The difference is that the extreme left is in power whereas the extreme right has almost zero power. Putting actual sex criminal males in female prisons, decriminalizing theft, open border policies, mandatory medical procedures etc are extreme policies. If the far right were in power I'd be just as concerned about what they'd be doing.

When I read your first two sentences, I assumed you were on the right. The right says "treat everyone equally" and the left says we must treat people based on who's the opporssor and who is the victim, and those distinctions almost always come down to sex and skin color (white men are bad). It seems you are talking out of both sides of your mouth. These days the left absolutely loses their mind when you say things like "all lives matter" or "I'm colour blind". Also, you make the inference that the left cares about poor people. Environmentalists are almost exclusively on the left and the policies being implemented as far as carbon taxes and "green" energy absolutely devastate the worlds poor. Most environmental policies make things cost more money, which, of course hurts the most vulnerable. @casper1754

Yeah the past few years have flipped the left/right thing on it's head. If I told you in 2002 that I was pro big pharma, pro monster international corporation (FB, Google etc), pro race and sex based decision making, pro censorship, pro mandated medical procedure, and pro war, you'd 100% for sure assume I was right wing.

" Republicans are seen as right wing and liberals left wing, but many of their strong stances don't fit on the side they're supposed to be on." Let's throw the last decade out because the sides have damn near flipped, but (I'm speaking for North America) the right wanted to exercise social control yet be economically free to do what you want. The left was the opposite. Both sides are massively hypocritical, but again, the last few years have shown that left/right definitions don't make sense anymore. These days the left is authoritarian and want extreme social controls and is all kinds of pro war and pro big business and pro big pharma etc. That's completely upside down.

"If you become less of a good person because of your views, then they don't mean anything of value " This is today in a nutshell. The ends justify the means.

That's a blurry line though. Your own beliefs are usually extremely heavily influenced by your experience with the world and a giant portion of that comes from what you were surrounded by and what you were taught.

It's NUTS that schools don't teach us political nor economic philosophy. Nor does it teach us how to handle adult things like tax returns and insurance and just general life skills. Our education system is horrible.
