  1. People cherry pick Carlin. Go listen to his entire body of work. He's like those bands that have massive hits, but then you buy the album and realize the non radio stuff was all filler. He's got a lot of really good stuff, but he has a massive amount of just unfunny, self important rambling. His old stuff, like Killer Carlin is just plain awful. It's not a good scene when you can't figure out which lines are supposed to be the punchlines.
