  4. 7:20. Calling out the CBC. That gets a pavlovian upvote from me, good sir. (Jk, the upvote was for recognizing that people are stupid). Your complete disappointment in mankind in this video is comforting. The first comment on that CBC article: This problem has been solved - a patent was registered for a lens with a de icing system a number of years ago (US7211771), also a University of Michigan team came up with some solutions in 2011. I imagine that many others have worked on this also. The statement by the Windsor authorities that there are no viable solutions only means that they haven't seriously looked for one. This is a solvable engineering and design problem. I live in the Canadian prairies. Not saying it doesn't happen, but I can't recall ever seeing a fully blinded light, and we get the real-deal winters here. It's not that big of a problem.
