I like Peter, but sometimes he says things that are positively cringeworthy. "Government stay out of my business". Do you believe in patent protection? Do you believe in a lower corporate tax rate? There are all sorts of things he damn sure wants the government in on. The bigger issue though is this idea that employer/employee is ALWAYS a 50/50 transaction. If you've ever really needed a job in a down economy you'll know that some employers will absolutely pay not nearly enough money because they can. They will abuse a worker and take advantage of them because they know the worker has no other options. Unless someone has been on both sides of the argument, they'll never truly understand it. Taking the risks associated with owning a business, and the costs involved get overlooked by employees, and the concerns of just making enough to feed you and put a roof over your head gets overlooked by businesses. It's absolutely not always a voluntary agreement. Look overseas to places with horrible working conditions and poverty wages in dangers occupations if you want to see what that system looks like. Unions have turned into bloated, dickheaded power hungry organizations for for goddamn sure they originally started because they were desperately needed.

Yup. Blaming the government for everything is just insane. He will absolutely not accept any personal business responsibility. He's drunk the Kool Aid of "my side is righteous and the other side is all wrong" and that's no way to look at any argument. If he's ever HAD to find a job in a really down market he'd understand it's to always a 2 way voluntary transaction. Hey buddy, if you can't afford to pay your worker enough to feed themselves and put a roof over their head then your business isn't viable. Sorry.
