Peterson may have had his license revoked, but he clearly is unstoppable. Here is a representation of the brilliant work he does and lays it out for all us to witness with another brilliant mind. God bless Jordan Peterson and John Vervaeke

You had me until “Hopkins Ethical Committee”. Peterson knows better than that.

Thanks for bringing your fun personality to this important discussion! I’m interested in the “how” we got here, definitely interesting. I think of Matthieu Pageau’s book The Language of Creation ….. the fall essentially is about gaining material knowledge at the expense of spiritual insight. If the bible is in indeed true and this theory of the fall explains what we are experiencing I’m more curious in the “how” does it end! Perhaps “how” we got here will inform “how” it ends?

Doesn’t Tom Hollands book Dominion also claim similarities that are covered here? I love this conversation I have gained knowledge and insight from hearing it. Thank you.

Love the name change!! I truly wish more people challenged themselves to get uncomfortable talking about heavy things, getting below inch deep and I appreciate your ability to keep them light with a sense of humour. If money were no object I’d be in Florida for this summit coming up!! I’m so sad to miss it!!

Thank you for having many conversations about classical education. I feel being in the education world I am an alien to others when I talk about this. All my teacher colleagues and friends get uptight and defensive immediately when I challenge our profession. It’s so counterintuitive to me, because the teaching profession has always logically been about challenging the current narrative but no one wants to help break the current system. It’s so bizarre

I will continue to pray for JP. If he could only replace his god of intellect with the one who created, unlimited potential would be released.

Another great conversation about Classical Education with Dr. Anthony Esolen! I'd love to see you two go deep on this topic! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbsPL24OaYQ&t=2716s

What about the quote, “don’t be so open minded that your brains fall out”? I’m not fully buying it. Some truth here but definitely incomplete

Pray for Christ’s protection and guidance to Jonathan. His voice and words of wisdom are so desperately needed now.

Hi William. Do you have a suggestion for grade 11-12 philosophy class in a secular private school?

One contention…. To be able to worship in freedom 19:07. I agree we can have a tendency to romanticize the notions of the past however, from my perspective, I know little about history, but I do know that the whole world shut down for a whole lot longer than two weeks to flatten the curve, and our religious freedom’s were very much challenged. And by no means do I think our goal on earth is to create a utopia but my goodness shouldn’t we be talking about what and how we most definitely need to be together for worship? I think I understand the notion of what true freedom is….. it is that which moves away from the enslavement to the contingencies and moves towards the Telos. True freedom is not the ability to do whatever you want whenever you want. I would caution the notion that we are free to worship in any way we want to here in the West. The spirit of the age may have receded for a short time giving the illusion we have freedom to worship in any way we want but what happens when Satan is unleashed into his full capacity? It would be best to starting preaching what “true freedom” is now.

It’s probably just me, but the body language and tone has me believing she is not happy about this interview. What is it about these questions that make her uncomfortable?

I LOVED this conversation ❤ I will definitely be looking into her books for future readings. My one concern is her brush off of Masculinity and Femininity. It may not be of importance for her research, which was what I inferred, but her response seemed dismissive as in if the 2 subjects don’t exist. So I’ll have to read her book to understand this concept more I guess?
2
Clearly made it? How so?
2
I love listening to 2 great storytellers battle it out for Truth.
2
@TheShootist agreed. You should really rethink your response.

I really like Paul Kingsnorth and have learned a great deal about discerning the age from him. I am confused as to why he won’t claim Jesus is the way the truth and the life though? Maybe he is sensitive to his wife’s faith and feels no need to lead people? Technically he said there are many paths that point to truth and maybe that’s true.

Or try extreme humility?

This is a first step but by no means a statement made by a mature Christian. It’s a great start though.

@Jerry-tv4bg test it out. Continue going about your life as you please do all the sinning and then see how close and present is the Creator is in your life?

8:50 collecting data is still biased. Say I’m studying depression I have group one measuring neurotransmitter levels in the brain group 2 collect data on moods and thoughts group 3 collect data on social cultural factors group 4 collect data on spiritual existential meaning. Even before scientist, analyze the data they are already framing what depression is by choosing which data to collect and what to dismiss. What counts as legitimate data? What tools in concepts are shaped by prior theories, methods or world views? Is depression a biological model then you’ll measure serotonin is depression a psychological model then you’ll conduct talk therapy. You see you can’t get away from bias in science, even if you’re “just” collecting data.

Too bad you don’t refuse to tour until everyone is allowed to go.

This would have been a comedy skit years ago. Life really does intimate art. What a shame.
1
@heavythingslightly I love that you don’t practice it “as much” because fear of hard conversations is not where Christ wants us to stand. But like you said, if we can meet where love and truth unite we can and should be able to talk about all things. May the Lord continue to guide, strengthen and show mercy on you as you navigate these waters.

I suggest this “expert” hurry up and deeply considered another perspective. Perhaps he doesn’t care much as he is nearing the end anyways. It’s not about being alarmist it’s about the revealing truth that humans want to create and gain knowledge at the expense and sacrifice of spiritual wisdom. None of which I think this guy has.

JP “Scientist orient themselves, we are following our internal logos and making a connection with the logos of the world. If we do that diligently and ethically the result will be good. It’s a replication of the biblical pattern” Os G “that’s why secularist never have a view of freedom, because cause and effect are always looking back. And you can’t look forward with the scientific method” This small statement by Os just cleared up a lot of what has been experienced these past few years.

It appears the definition of Christian worship does not include the Most High our Lord and Saviour in it, if war is justified.

Do you have a favourite book by him?

So Michael agrees that extreme skepticism (cynicism) is ridiculous, I’d agree and add that it’s self-defeating. He reminds me of when JP went deep into Totalitarianism and came out the other side into a religious mind set. Now if he could only see that while holding extreme scepticism is self-defeating so is the denial of universal truth.

@lancewalker2595 intelligence didn’t get him much farther than insane.
