President Vladimir Putin had visited the hospital to pay respects to Mikhail Gorbachev on the day of Maganov's death. CCTV footage was not available because cameras had been "turned off for repairs". Lukoil is the second largest company in Russia after Gazprom, so the CEO is very powerful. Maganov was a very outspoken critic of Putin and the "Special Military Operation". Grigory Kochenov fell to his death from his balcony while officials from the Investigative Committee executed a search warrant for his apartment in Nizhny Novgorod . Pavel Antov fell out of window from Hotel Sai International; another Russian colleague, Vladimir Bidenov, died in the same hotel two days prior. Marina Yankina, Head of the financial support department of the Ministry of Defence for the Western Military District, falling from apartment window on the 16th floor Artyom Bartenev, Federal Judge of the Kirovsky District Court, falling 12 stories from his apartment window. Kristina Baikova, Vice-president of Loko-Bank, fell off her apartment at the 11th floor. Dmitriy Zelenov, founder of Donstroy Construction, fell over a railing and later died in hospital without regaining consciousness Dan Rapoport, Managing Director of CentreInvest Securities in Moscow and vocal critic of Putin, fell out his nine-story apartment in Washington DC. Rapoport's business partner and co-owner of elite Moscow nightclub Soho Rooms, Sergey Tkachenko, died from a fall from his apartment window. More than 38 Russian businessmen and oligarchs close to the Kremlin died in mysterious or suspicious circumstances.
