@bitterballs356 Russia was losing the war. The Lend-Lease Act gave Russia billions in aid that allowed them to survive. Even Joseph Stalin, during the Tehran Conference of 1943, acknowledged publicly the importance of American material support. So this is how Russia repays its debts? Why do they have to act like the fable of The Scorpion and the Frog?

@pfefferle74 No, the Nazis came to power because the first world war had drained the country and the Treaty of Versailles made proud Germans bitter and angry. The Weimar Republic was far too unstable to get to the moon. A hundred Wernher von Brauns would not fix the hyperinflation, punitive reparation costs and a wave of political assassinations from all sides.
