If they attacked the people who controlled that territory they would have been attacking the British. You can be born in any country and be baptized in any religion, but if you "convert" to being a Jew, Israel will bring you to Israel and give you land they took from Palestinians. You might be able to wave a them from the military vehicle while they walk down the road with what they can carry.
