jet li! When I'm out on a long distance bike-hike along Lake Erie, I like to take a rest stop inland where the old Crystal Beach Amusement Park was. That's about getting under some shade. There's a colony of big chipmunks I have to watch out for.

@NPC-fr6wo !You're almost there. Evil is a human concept, not a trait. Looking at the basis of our English language, evil is "live" spelled in reverse. Yes, it only gets more confusing as our language decays as a society. Are you thinking "live" as in "alive"? You should be thinking "live" as in living, and "evil" is the opposite. That's like saying "wicked" like it's a Disney wicked witch, when the authentic word is derived from a candle or lamp wick. Sure, it burns to make a light but it burns out the source, and if you are wicked you are running out of your own energy. Animals have more conscious thought than most humans want to give them credit for. A whale pod was attacked by fishermen one summer, killing a mature female. The next summer, when that same boat went out, they said the adult male that was with the female attacked their boat. If a whale can remember a family member being killed and be there the next year to look for revenge, maybe mankind is spreading this attitude to other species. I know that, but this one example is one of the best. I'd sooner talk about how Humbolt squid are starting to attack divers and fishermen, but I'd want videos for that.

iBiana Doubt ! Is this true? Are you down on squirrels? Was it an expensive attic problem that caused this? Here in the Niagara Peninsula, squirrels live to be around 25 years old. They mate for life, and if one of them gets killed they stay alone with their family. And I know some squirrels who had a bigger stash last fall than I did.

@TheThingInMySink ! I gave you a thumbs up for your polite reply, but you are very wrong. The Dark Ages don't get the history lessons they deserve because some of those same groups are still active during our lifetimes. For over four hundred years, during every one hundred years, a quarter of the population died. The Dark Ages continues as the allergies, diabetes, and other birth problems, such as being stunted and runted continue. This is one of the symptoms of our living in The Worst of Times.

Big Blue: It's easy to say he developed a morbid premonition, but that's just human nature, like kidnap victims falling in love with their captors. Or, like some cultures, if others around you die and you don't, you feel death was cheated, like saying if someone saves your life you owe it to them.
