@NTM35 Thanks for asking. When Kathleen Wynne was Premier of Ontario she said Ontario internet needed new security. The highest bid from an Ontario company was $600,000,000. An American company in the United States bid $780,000,000 and they got the contract. The capital of Canada, Ottawa, is in Ontario. In 1979, there were three universities in Toronto linked to the American "information highway", each paying $50,000 a year. It was known as a piggy-back system, a reference to double-decker railroad cars for automobiles. Americans were monitoring end users and using unused capacity. And then it became the world wide web. It's not good, building a society using spy technology.
