  1.  @plaidpanda  I'm remembering the Viet Nam era, where flag-burning became a big thing. Artists also rendered the flag as damaged or changed the colors to make political statements.

  6.  @meoff7602  Many southerners are still angry at their treatment after the war. For a war that now is seen as a war about slavery, it became robbing the south of wealth and resources. The burn to the ground strategy of Northerners still results in poverty for those areas. I'm being geographical here, not talking about the southern flag showing up for Trump gatherings.
