If this was a proper public event, people entering would sign their name and address in a book in case they need to be contacted later. They don't need to be left with their grief and start to worship justice as high tech. That bit about the woman who thought he was guilty, and how important that was, does have a precedent. So does Americans hating other Americans. In the Salem Witch Trials, where you can only be accused once, a law was passed, where a dream was accepted as evidence, someone seeing someone else act like a witch. Maybe that became the new American dream.
