They did that so Europeans could read, with translations into their languages, what Jesus of Nazareth actually said and did. That created the Crusades, where European Kings and Queens sent armies to defeat the Holy Roman Empire and what became The Vatican. "Christ is the only way to God". That's not true. If god is eternity, our souls out of the flesh, we are what Jesus of Nazareth said we are, forgiven, all humans having an eternal destiny. It's not just a co-incidence, that all the great prophets and thinkers around the world say you need love and compassion to be all you can be, under the heavens or up there with them.

It should be precedent setting. And like the presidency of Past President Trump, it's not very precedential. It's nothing like The Great Flood.

  17.  Theonlyonestanding : I agree with you. Here in the Niagara Peninsula the labor market is the same. It used to be Jamaicans coming to work for the farm season, but now it's Mexicans. In the Niagara Peninsula, in Welland, it was workers from Newfoundland who repainted a canal bridge, and Mexicans from Mexico repainted the lighthouse at Point Abino. Why? Locals would sooner be stoners on welfare than work on a farm or do general labor.

  20. As someone in the Niagara Peninsula I'm not sure what these stay-at-home orders are. We can go outside as long as we social distance and wear masks while doing it. If you're outside alone you don't have to wear as mask. There are government lock-downs where only essential businesses are open, but businesses that aren't essential are open as long as you order over the telephone or internet and either have delivery or pick-up. Despite what government orders there are, I'm not seeing America going into lock-downs or shut-downs because so many Americans don't follow those restrictions. If these California politicians are being pushed around by businesses, businesses aren't in the business of public health and should also follow restrictions. If you don't have a healthy population you're not going to have healthy business.

Birds stopped flying south over twenty years ago. Lake Erie and Ontario, and all the hydro and shipping canals don't freeze over in the winter. You used to be able to go ice-fishing while you sat in your car with the motor on and the heater running, over thirty years ago. Americans don't come over any more. That's not as you were.

America wants you to think humans evolved from apes in Africa because that helped them explain the new corporate slavery that built America. Here's a clue. Look at the biggest whales on earth, as they have residual bones for hands and feet. Scientists say these whales once walked the earth but went back into the water. What about the whales that stayed on soil? What did they evolve into?

  54.  @w.p8140  You could sit in your car with the window down and the heater on, ice-fishing on Lake Erie and Ontario. That ended a long time ago. They don't freeze over, what moderates us. Birds don't fly south. Crops that began to grow during a January thaw would die when freezing again, losing that, growing canola for oil. Record wind, water and ice levels have decimated the Lake Erie shore. A thirty foot wall of ice was pushed ashore in Fort Erie, moving houses and cottages. I'm going for long distance bike-hikes, nice for me, but not nice for what I see. A forest beside Buffalo Beach had all the ground cover washed away, replaced by over a foot of sand. That made me a stranger in a stranger land.

  55.  @w.p8140  I used the ice-fishing from a car as an example, seeing it, also ice-fishing shacks towed out there, but I never did it myself. And you are correct, an idling motor didn't melt the ice, and that was before unleaded gas. When I'm out on a long distance bike-hike, almost two days, I'm huffing and puffing a lot, chewing my way through the scenery, and drinking the water. I feel better when I get back. The only thing local Mohawk make alcohol out of are blue spruce trees. I get enough of a buzz inhaling a cloud of spores.

Scottish people think almost the same thing, about lilac bushes in the spring... and no, no, I'm not talking about lilac water or pushing lilac water, not saying nothing about not drinking it, or collecting water from orange tiger lilies for some serious sips in the shade of a willow tree. Chew some willow bark, where aspirin comes from. And please, don't try what crows get high on.
