The word christian didn't exist when Jesus of Nazareth was alive. It's a Latin word from when the Roman Empire changed into the Holy Roman Empire, in 324 ad. The words catholic and catechism aren't in the Holy Bible.

@steve.lichtenwald Um, you should look up Emperor Constantine, dying I think in 324 AD. The language of the Garden of Eden is still being spoken. How does that figure into your world view?

@oldestgamer When the Roman Empire was converting to the Holy Roman Empire, they invented the word "christian". They took the Greek word you describe and added the Latin "ian". The Latin word christian described Romans who became followers of Jesus of Nazareth. They were the only people put into the arena with wild animals who weren't given weapons. Some Scot trivia: Romans used the Greek symbol for infinity, like a sideways stretched out number eight. They cut one end off, saying it looked like the Jewish fish symbol. It was easy to one-stroke paint on armor and shields. Scots call it 'holy mackerel", mackerel being used as fertilizer.

@nanasewdear I can help. When a "christian" is coming down on me, I ask if they can help me, and answer this question. If our eyes are the windows to our souls, why, in the entire New Testament, doesn't it tell us what happens when you look into the eyes of Jesus of Nazareth? While the King James Holy Bible was published by Scots, so Europeans would rise up in war against the armies of the bishops of the pope in Rome, it's supposed to become The Living Word in a Worst of Times, and we're living in one, that's for sure. I have more questions for you, pilgrim.

@doh4828 At the time of Jesus of Nazareth, the followers who copied His style were called Nazrites and Nazrenes. Despite the later creation of the Catholic church, coming up with original sin, the sign over Jesus of Nazareths' head said "King of the Jews". You say terrorist, it was political.

I see your disenfranchisement from organized religion has created anger in you. Too bad you can't hang out on a Sunday morning with people who are there as a community, for you and anyone who attends.

@nelsaf365 I wasn't totally happy typing anger, but I couldn't think of anything else. My favorite community is being in a band with other musicians.

@2fuzy If you feel a connection just reading a book, you aren't disenfranchised. I used that word because a religion can be a franchise, and feeling you don't belong to a franchise is becoming disenfranchised. You say "a church". The words catholic and catechism aren't in the Bible.
