Here in the Niagara Peninsula, Niagara Parks Police had to create a new protocol for American thieves. When you are arrested you are put in jail and can't be released until a Canadian judge releases you. That's because there are no extradition laws in the United States for financial crimes committed in a foreign country, and once they get over the bridge there's no chance for justice or financial reparations.
