My favorite Venezuelan trivia is this. When President Hugo Chavez survived a C.I.A. assassination attempt, he built a chain of gas stations in Texas that sold gas cheaper than Texans sold it. That's why you still hear about him in America, especially as a source for rigging elections, even if he was already dead.
