The American dollar isn't backed by the gold standard any more, it's based on housing mortgages. They're getting dealt like stocks on the American stock market, another financial concept that should never have become a reality. What high finance did in 2008 has filtered down to residential housing. All Americans should have worried when they were told they didn't have to pay rent in the pandemic.

@bay5005 You obviously don't know that slavery in the United States hasn't ended. It might look different, but it's still there, and it's not just "black" people any more.

Reparations for "black" citizens is a concept that can never become a reality. The United States is bankrupt, bankrupt from the moment Washington created a "debt ceiling" they can keep raising. If you do agree with reparations for "black" citizens, you'll have to get into reparations with the genocide of North American natives. And when you consider all the other countries Americans have attacked and taken over, you'd pay for the world.

@WildnWithMarcus There are no "debts", or paper-work, for reparations. It's just a concept. I see it as being used to anger white racists and Republican voters.
