The United States took over Columbia in 1944. The C.I.A. took a used bomber and installed a new large caliber machine gun beside a removed cargo side door, loading the plane with ammunition. They flew it over main streets in cities, blasting everyone and everything they could, until the country capitulated. If South American news doesn't interest you, I could tell you about Ontario.

@Mr.Williams23 : I've talked with American air force personnel and people from Columbia. Canadian folk-singer Bruce Cockburn had a big hit, "If I Had a Rocket Launcher", about Americans taking over Guatemala. People outside of the United States get to see the real news in real time, most of the time.

@mrpalaces : The cargo plane terrorism I described happened in Columbia, and I say Guatemala received the worst military atrocities. Here in Ontario, Ontario Hydro was coerced into hiring an American as executive officer. He began a negotiation to buy an American electricity provider. An American judge stopped the sale, saying it could be politically interfered with in Ontario. He fined Ontario Hydro $123,000,000 for non-completion of sale. The American didn't dispute this and paid, saying it wouldn't come out of rate-payers bills. He quit and was hired to run the Tennessee Valley Authority.

@mrpalaces : I truly wish I had a link for you. The C.I.A. we know now as military aggressors aren't the Central Intelligence Agency that was a resource for the F.B.I. You say allies during the war, the United States had a contract with Germany to be their supplier, how the Germans were able to take on all of Europe while America built up a military manufacturing industry. After Europe bombed itself to the ground Americans went over to take over, why the rush for Berlin against the Russians, who were an ally. I was talking last summer to a man from Columbia who was visiting Niagara Falls, and we talked about this. As being new to You Tube I can only think of one link that has relevance to what I published, and it's about Guatemala. It's a happy link with a senior Canadian musician, playing an older song of his, written after he toured South America. I spent time with these people backstage, in 1970. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AG7g0eCtcI
