Why isn't this event being described as Democrat or Republican? This definitely isn't a run-off election.

@MartinSmith I'm not surprised. For a party that tries to keep people from voting, not having an election is better. He also picked a former governor to be a senator. That should be very wrong for you.

@charmer6813 You can't handle the truth, but I'll give you some anyway. First, your comment is idiotic. Do you really live where you only remember what happened that day? Don't you remember Republicans "gerry-mandering" voting districts? Don't you remember "suppressing votes"? Past President Trump made sure there were two votes for dead people, so he could be onstage and rant about dead people voting. Both of those votes were for Trump. If you think illegal immigrants could ever have the right to vote... the BS you smell is you.

@censoredopinions I'm not denying the reality of what you say, I'm just saying it's not proper politics. I understand amendments have been used for political gain. We're talking about governors and senators who are elected, what democracy means, electing your politicians. Not having an election, picking a party member who was governor as senator, is wrong. Was this governor voted out before? Are you familiar with the section of the Constitution that says no European country could send enough soldiers over the ocean to conquer the United States, saying they don't need a military navy? You might know the amendments that changed that. At the same time my ancestors defended themselves against American attacks and won the War of 1812. We burned down Fort Detroit and the White House. You don't see Americans celebrating that.
