I had an as-new 1962 Jaguar XKE in 1973, bought from a museum, the first one exported to Canada, a converted D-Type. I was driving around with a woman I knew, everyone wanting to go for a spin. We went to Niagara Falls and she wanted to go over the border. I saw an airport and drove up, seeing an open gate to the runway, something I did back home. I got her up to over 150, going around runway lights, until a spotlight shone on us. I could see police car lights at the gate I entered, so I drove over. The officers wanted to see the engine, and turned down a chance to drive it. I just bought it and didn't have insurance or a drivers' license, just a beginners. The officers said they would escort me to the bridge and cross over with me, saying I wouldn't have to pay. That was a good time that wouldn't happen now.

This is becoming a traditional winter, seeing people in Buffalo complaining about no side-street snowplows. Yes, it's traditional across the Niagara River, but in the Niagara Peninsula this storm came up from the States, and that's non-traditional. I'm seeing maybe six inches and it's wind-blown snow that's making the drifts.

@commercial09 : If you can publish that Joe Biden is the super racist, you have to be ignoring the fact President Trump has incited racism and defended it, a low-life way to make Americans angry enough to vote for him again. White activists are driving cars into peaceful Black LIves Matter protesters and white militia are shooting them with various weapons. You should come out as a racist on You Tube. You can type I'm a racist. You'll feel better when it's over. We're here for you just as much as you're here for us.

When I'm on a long distance bike-hike, walking along the shores of Lake Erie north of Fort Erie in Canada, I can stop and look across the Niagara River or Lake Erie and see the lights of Buffalo shining in the distance. They look the same as they always have, across the Peace Bridge. It hurt when Buffalo police pushed an elderly man to the sidewalk, a serious injury as he laid there ignored. I hope this doesn't lead to Buffalo burning again.

@jacobual20 : You have presented a thoughtful overview of these candidates, even if Past Vice-President Joe Biden hasn't repeated racist talk as much as President Trump. You say "actions speak louder than words", and I add, it doesn't matter how smart you are, it's what you do with your life that counts. I'm surprised that, during these debates, nobody talked about the wildfires, what is the worst American tragedy today.

@jacobual20 : I like being incredibly open-minded and thoughtful, when I'm replying to a totally articulate and probably a very good-looking person. In public, when I'm talking like that I call it free old man talk and say you don't have to listen, you'll be old enough yourself too soon. Here in Canada there is a pension for turning 65, meant to be a reward for getting to be that old, hoping you will help young people find their way. And yes, it's a very old pension going back to pioneer days. Scottish people set that up.

Let me add that world protests can be seen in a generic way, people fighting to control their lives after greed-heads with computers have been running things for too long. For me, the big difference between Republicans and Democrats is that oily Bush bunch assassinating the Kennedys and being bad up to causing 9/11. A computer expert from Lebanon said Americans spend too much money on military and not enough for online security, why it's being used against you. American taxpayers built the world wide web but you don't get any financial benefits. I better stop typing.

@01mementomori : I can be informative for you. In 1979 I was sponsored in a residence in Toronto by Professor John McCallum, Electronics at York University. At the time, three universities in Toronto each paid $50,000 a year for a link to "the information highway", other universities in the United States. Professor John signed a contract with China and went over to help build their internet and write their university curriculum. China is the only country with sovereign online, able to turn off, or "firewall" the rest of the world. That's why Americas' world wide web is being used against them, and how America is being used as a global resource, not in the best interests of Americans. Ontario is the only province in Canada where online is both owned and secured by Americans, where Ottawa, the capital of Canada is. I have never seen a Snowden interview. What do you find hard to believe?

I am known for talking about life as being of only Scottish ancestry, telling people a history they don't teach in North America. You say "illuminati", a Holy Roman Empire and Vatican thing for me. Have you looked at Baal, the Jewish god pre-Moses, a golden calf? Have you heard of The Tower of Babel, and Baalbek, now in Turkey? Do you know what the language of The Garden of Eden is, and where those political refugees went? Here's a clue, vir na nog, Gaelic for "when the ancients fell". Here in the Niagara Peninsula, I call myself a book rescuer, getting huge and beautiful and historic books, 50 cents for soft cover and $1 for hard covers, always paying double that amount and making sellers excited, thinking they're selling a book. I'm watching video channels about malls closing all around America. They were an automotive shopping experience from the beginning, just like supermarkets, invented in 1944. They became local hang-outs for kids, more about arcades than retail shopping.
