The majority of professional legal opinions, and a majority of the American public, think the justice system favors rich people, and see Trump as getting preferential treatment as a former president. If you want to believe Trumps' lies about all of his court cases, the financial fraud cases he lost, how he conducts international business, it's all against the law. The United States doesn't have extradition laws for financial crimes committed in foreign countries. If Trump didn't become president and divide the Republican Party, he'd still be in the clear.
