A nice feature in most file managers can be toggled by pressing the F3 key for a split view (or dual pane) that you can use to browse through two separate directories and copy files from one place to the other, be it local or remote. :) As far as I know it works in Caja, Nemo, Nautilus, PCManFM but I suppose it should work in Dolphin and others. The buggy thing about using F3 in PCManFM, though, is that when you switch the split view on you actually get a new tab in the file manager, and when you switch off the split view you still have that tab open. It might as well be a feature but it's a weird default that doesn't look configurable from the preferences. Bye the way, have you seen how Raspbian tweaked the PCManFM appearance? It's great for newbies and they made it easy to toggle between the default layout to the customized one. See the first option here: https://imgur.com/8VquF7K
