Depends on the trade. Mechanical ones arent too bad but stuctural ones (framing, concrete, rebar or structural steel) take more than they give. Many men spend the second half their life in pain because of trades
11
Mike doesnt have to go to a jobsite everyday so its easy for him to reccomend trades. Ask an old broken tradesman what he thinks, not a celebrity.
10
Dont forget his bullet proof backpack
3
@ladyelainefairchild3546 tons of options for women in trades. Id recommend a mechanical one though. Easier on the body
3
Mike rowe, recommending jobs he would never take himself
3
@bethanycarlson3097 ugh, he is a pretend blue collar worker. He has been in show business for 20 or more years. What, you think he swings a hammer when filming ends? You say im the ignorant one
3
Surr they make devent money but your body is destroyed long before you get to retire
2
@beths999 have you ever met a rebar installer or concrete placing crew? Not exactly MENZA material.
2
Like i said on another post, depends on the trade. Elevator guys have it pretty easy compared to other trades. Either way it only takes a slight lapse in attention to end his career. Is that really what you would want for your kids?
2
Why would they.
2
Why did you go into office work if trades are so great. Plenty of women on jobsites now
2
@andrewpriester6994 lashing out is all he has to work with
2
You're owed nothing
2
@derekbaker777 at 43 you should.look for an operating job. Whether its forklift or another piece of equipment it doesnt realy matter. Gotta look out for your health whengetting a bit older
2
@indianlarry6105 its not good for anyone. Its all less intelligent men have where they can make a decent living
1
@annebreitrick6116 how old is he if you dont mind me asking
1
@annebreitrick6116 so he is more than likely at the end of his carreer. He is also an oddity if he made a retirement for himself as most guys in trades are more concerned with drinks after work than their 401K. Good for him, i do hope the trade didnt take his health though.
1
@DK-tq3fy it wasnt sweeping, it was apt. Youve never worked in the trades and it shows
1
@maxwellcrazycat9204 exactly. Now why would anyone want that for their kids?
1
@goldbud2287 fine fod busters is what they called tham in my day. Also, yes i hung structural steel in the 80's. Most men cant handle that work and im sure youre one of them
1
@andrewpriester6994 funny because im constanly correcting your stupidity on here.
1
@goldbud2287 local 25 out of detroit. I was structural steel not rod busting
1
@goldbud2287 im 63, i wouldnt even try.
1
@fearthekrazy5186 im not looking down on anyone. Im advocating people educate themselves and earn their money with their brain rather than their body. Unfortunately some dont have that option
1
@DK-tq3fy sure thing kid
1
@goldbud2287 gfy, if youre going to be a moron dont bother talking to me
1
@goldbud2287 what kind of question is that? What size steel was i hanging? What a dumb question seeing as buildings have all sorts of sizes
1
@goldbud2287 where did you go goldy, rushing to look up the size bolts red iron uses?
1
@r32guy10 kentucky isnt blue, neither is texas
1
@r32guy10 lol yes densly populated areas would have more shootings than a county with more cows than people but if you look at per capita murdur rates the south is far worse than the coasts
1
@r32guy10 i dont fix potholes. You fix it
1
@r32guy10 f'n right he is. Very happy with my vote
1
@andrewpriester6994 no andrew, "they" say that because its true
1
@fearthekrazy5186 thats great, first one in a long time. Man does he have alot to do to get that state out of poverty
1
@r32guy10 youre like talking to arussian troll
1
@TCGaming4fun i worked trades when i was younger. I was in structural steel. You wouldnt have called me anything back then because i was as strong as an ox. Here i am 35 years later with the same back injury i got in that trade. Hardly a wuss, just smarter now
1
Exactly. What a farce
1
Youve never worked in a hard trade before. Mike doesnt either. Spend a lifetime working rebar and see what shape youre in at the end of it
1
@SteverRob i dont need to as im semi retired already but i know many guys who wouldnt be able to grasp coding and are in the trades because theyre not qualified to do anything else.
1
@gmnikolaus when did i say anything about the costs associated with college?
1
@fearthekrazy5186 condesention is all some of you people respond to
1
@fearthekrazy5186 no
1
@morbward8281 sure for the fist half of your career. Second half youre in pain so you wouldnt want to go to one anyways
1
@SteverRob fox doesnt have a video on that
1
@terrylewis8802 that would be a great idea but do you really think republicans would go for that? Pretty aure they would call that socialism
1
Special operations but not many from what ive read
1
Ya, go beat up you body for rich builders so they can buy a newer truck and you can have a broken back.
1
And a lack of intelligence.
1
Shortsighted. Give him a decade and he will regret that decision
