If that job is a divisive right wing radio station, the bank probably and rightfully concluded that it could either fail or be shut down in Canada. It's a bad bet for a bank. The money doesn't care if you're right wing or leftwing. It only cares if it can make money. It didn't think the business model was worth betting on.
