@johnchristman750 this is selective science or cherry picking. Yes trees and plants absorb co2. Yes we make more co2 than they can handle. Annually we have less and less forests to absorb this co2. How is this hard to understand?
8
In higher than normal levels oxygen can be toxic. The point is we release far more CO2 than the plants can process on earth. So it's collecting in the atmosphere.

@badpanda1532 first, I agree there was a rainforest in the arctic. That's because the rest of the planet was basically uninhabitable. Yes the planet does change but the cycles are on the hundreds of thousands of years. No where in the geologic record have they ever witnessed such a lage co2 build up without some kimd of cataclysmic event. We are the difference.
4
Weird because musk says solar is the way to go.
2
@deborahshufflebarger5381 true. They're used in all sorts of applications from plastic and makeup to heavy lubricants. That's not the problem we are talking about though. It's burning it is the problem
2
@vernonbowling5310 diamond batteries may be a thing soon. No mining needed because the fuel is already abundant. Look it up. Either way we are looking into different metals to use so we can mitigate that issue. Your reasoning isn't worth doing nothing.
2
@deborahshufflebarger5381 I never said it should end. Not entirely. Just as a fuel to burn that's all. Yes it's a big change but it's killing the planet.
2
@vernonbowling5310 so I just read they opened their first full scale diamond battery production facility in Europe sewhere. Maybe England, I forget. I don't think it's that far off to be honest but I have heard promises made in the past.

@jtjjbannie 100 years ago we didn't have Manhatten size chunks breaking off Antarctica and Greenland. It's speeding up too. It's odd how the right displays absolutely no forethought in most scenarios
1
@bilbobaggins1934 just not as far below as they are now.
1
@davedee6745 all the problems we fa e as nations in this world stems from greed and that bottom line. This has been known about for 60 years and very little has been done.
1
@mikeharrison3618 dude should change his last name. Won't help with book sales lol
1
@jtjjbannie so your post doesn't show but I will answer you anyways. No I have not been to Antarctica but they did show satellite photos of these floating ice shelf breaking off. What's broken off so far is floating so it's already displaced its weight in water, hence Florida not being submerged yet. These floating ice shelf act like a foundation the land based ice rely on to stay on land. Are you with me still? Now when that land based ice slides I to the ocean it will displace water and that's when oceans can really rise. Please read more
1
@johnchristman750 there is that can do American spirit we are known for. Lol what happened to you guys? Meh, the dinosaurs died out so why try?
1
@johnchristman750 we have also not known about this for tens of thousands of years. We've known about this since maybe the late 60's.
1
@X no, that's not even close to true. Some are and are vocal but most are just normal people old enough to have started seeing changes
1
@X where?
1
@jtjjbannie the weird part is you make alot of assumptions about me that, if you didn't could save alot of time. Yes I do know about the equatorial bulge. Do you know how rivers of water underneath the ice shelves have sped their movent towards the ocean from meters per year to hundreds of meters per year as of the last couple decades?
1
@johnchristman750 why do you think this is God's will? God doesn't make us burn fossil fuels. That's on us
1
@wc2126 why do you think the water table in Denver has anything to do to the water tabke in Florida. Both can be correct
1
@johnchristman750 we stopped using cfc's in the 80's and now the ozone layer hole is healing itself. Thank goodness smarter people than you or I are dealing with it.
1
@johnchristman750 what do you mean though? We haven't been dealing with anything for tens of thousands of years.
1
@johnchristman750 oh I see, we have religon dictating your actions and beliefs in this regard. So Jesus says to keep using fossil fuels? Or is it God or maybe Mary? I'm confused, where in the Bible do they cover oil emissions.
1
@johnchristman750 I have, they never covered emission standards or co2 levels anywhere in it.
1
@Scumbagballless nope, she said if we didn't drastically reduce our emissions, in 12 years we would hit a tipping point of no return on runaway climate change. Perhaps you should try reading more and taking hannity's words as facts less.
1
@johnchristman750 no, I don't accept a book re written by a king as facts. Or the book that was written before that by men. Sorry
1
@johnchristman750 if I hit myself in the head with a hammer today. I predict I won't go into work tomorrow. Cause and effect is a real thing. To deny that is a little over the top
1
@johnchristman750 you have a good day too. Do me a favor and save the prayers and do this, be nice to two random people today that look like they need a smile or kind words. That would make my heart feel better than prayers and it would show you do mean to want better for me. You have a great day too
1
@johnchristman750 I'm glad to hear. I always try to be extra nice to strangers who are serving me in some way. They need it the most these days
1
@dixonhammer1811 water on store shelves don't irrigate crop lands. Man that wasn't a smart answer.
1
@jondeibe2294 nope, just a different geologic Era. We never would have evolved with the earth the way it was. Now we live in and era that we can survive in and we are speeding it's change up.
1
@jondeibe2294 just because you haven't any idea how they attained their proof does not mean I'm engaging in conjecture. If you read alot more and better content we wouldn't be having this conversations.
1
@skydiver6711 why do you think 1950's scientists had the same understanding of the earth and its workings as ones in the 2020's? That's 70 years of research and new abities, like satellite tech and ice core samples. That's like saying the new iPhone couldn't have a camera because in the 50's none did.
1
So 99% of scientists and the US military are all wrong
1
@deborahshufflebarger5381 there is that defeatist attituted I've come to know from the right. Just throw your hands in the air and let God take the wheel hey?
1
@Long Duck Dong trump tried. It's weird you asked because the name trump was in the conversation
1
@Long Duck Dong if it's rocky I use rocky to make a small beer fridge in the river. Gets a little sketchy at night with it dark and a few in
1
@Long Duck Dong see, I like many things about conservatives. But lately you are pushing stuff that's crossing lines. If you're not watching the Jan 6 hearings that's kinda irresponsible considering the severity of the accusations. Even if you don't believe it, everyone owes it to America to at least see the evidence. The way McConnell packed the court was absolutely un-American too. But you backed it and now say if the fillibuster is touched on anything else it's too far. I don't understand why you take these positions?
1
@Long Duck Dong I hope you watched where it was said he ordered for the metal detectors to be removed to let armed people into his rally saying "they're not here to hurt me" then he told them to go to the capitol. How about his efforts to put up alternate slates of electors in multiple state and appointing a lawyer from the EPA to AG to try and make that happen? This is really bad stuff we are talking about here. A coup, literally the worst thing a president can do.
1
@Long Duck Dong well we can only assume that it being given as testomony under oath with the threat of jail, she was probably telling the truth? I would like to see this corroborated too though as it's a big deal if true. That being said, why is it only close trump confidante's you will only believe?
1
@Long Duck Dong are you going to answer my question?
1
Think back to when cars were invented. They were loud, expensive and unreliable. Militaries didn't start using them over horses for a while after they were invented. We are in that transition with electric. Ya, the early stuff is rough but it will get alot better the more it's adapted.
1
@l.plzsavethebeez485 ugh, yes it can but the planet was able to handle that because of the plant biodiversity it had. We are now, along with random volcanos, extracting billions of gallons of oil and burning it in the atmosphere with less plants and forests to absorb it. This is grade school level understanding I'm explaining here.
1
@lizbaker2960 how is lake mede these days? How many farmers in Arizona are going bankrupt? To deny the effects climate change is having was like denying covid was a problem. Over million Americans died of covid.
