Making things from oil is alot different than burning it for fuel

@anthonyobrian2665 there are a ton of EV's in canada and they work fine there. Alot more space between cities too.

@ricksanchez9798 regardless what the final energy we use for vehicles is, electric is less harmful than oil. There is just no debate on that. Even when you include the mining aspect its still far better for the environment. I personally want to see hydrogyen fuel used but the tech isnt there yet. We cant afford 20 more years of going about as we are. The weather is alreadyextreme and its just getting started.

@gary637 slashing demad would increase supply which would tank the cost of oil. Not increase it. When things are rare they cost more. When things are in abundance prices drop. Supply and demand 101

Mr. Kim i understand, but with the lower demand in the future, i dont know if the industry would want to spend the billions it would take to buikd a new one. Especially when they would still have the plants that currently exist. Those plants would then be running at a lower capacity due to lower demand. I guess it comes down to whether the industry will see demand fall before the refineries become obsolete and needing replacement anyways.

 @timower5850 youre absolutley riight. Just look at ford, they didnt want to go electric at first and are now converting plants for batteryand EV production.
