@Fear the Krazy I think the problem here is, like you said, we have a dark history. So the question is, why can't that be taught in our schools?

@Fear the Krazy the Supreme Court interprets the laws and applies them to constitutional standards. This interpretation has inherent built in biases from the persons upbringing. It is only fair to say that one of the biggest minorities in our country should have some level of representation in the high Court. Seeing as they never have had it up until now.

@Fear the Krazy I agree HUD is not working as designed. But in reality, it never could have solved the problem. Back in the 20's as land value started to rise it got harder and harder to own a home. So in 1934 the federal government decided to back home ownership loans to help people out. Problem was, if you were black, you couldn't take part. So for 30 years up until the 1968 fair housing act black people couldn't get mortgages. Not just that, but if you were white, you couldn't get one if there was even one black family in your neighborhood. They were called redlining laws. What that did was created the ghettos we see today.because of the entire black.population being kept from home ownership.for so long it led to the white population buying up all the land. Including the land the black population lived on becoming their landlords.
