@Burt Gummerfan burt, do you have any idea how many untapped leases there are right now? It's not that they have nowhere to drill and extract, it's because oil companies know if they drill more oil, it lowers profits.

@Burt Gummerfan well there are many leases untouched and sitting there that they could drill. It's in their best interest not to because demand creates more profit. It's not up to Biden, but he would have to nationalize the oil companies to be able to change that. This isn't a dictatorship, man.

@John Doe no, I'm saying if they keep demand high, then they can stretch it out and keep oil at a high price for longer. If they just start pumping oil into the economy the cost per barrel would drop. It's basic supply and demand. It's also the reason for regulations on the market and the need for stronger ones.

@Michael Seay that's still not a lot, though. We still get far more from Venezuela and Canada. All I am saying is that American has always imported Russian oil to a certain degree.
